Sarah Kroll-Rosenbaum is the founding partner of Grove Law LLP, a bi-coastal commercial litigation and advisory firm with teams in Los Angeles and New York. The firm was recognized in the Chambers Spotlight 2026 California Guide for Litigation: General Commercial, and Sarah has been consistently named to the Los Angeles Business Journal's list of Top Litigators. She is a 2025 Legacy Award recipient from the National Association of Travel Healthcare Organizations and a nationally recognized advisor to the staffing industry.
I asked Sarah what led her to start her own firm.
"A couple of threads came together," she told me. "A passion for this profession — my partners and I love being lawyers. And a commitment to being healthy people."
The story behind those threads is longer than it might appear. Over the course of her career, Sarah left the legal profession three times because she couldn't yet see how to do it on her own terms.
"I left because I didn't know how to see myself and my own way of being in this profession," she reflected. "Every time I came back because I love being a lawyer and I love working with my clients. I got closer and closer to my version of authentic lawyering which is me doing me, and having relationships that work for me."
She also spent years building a team and a client base in the staffing industry, developing a practice model that was deeply client-centered and values-driven. When she partnered with Hannah Scholl - a close friend and accomplished commercial litigator who had also served as in-house counsel at Visa for eight years - the pieces came together. In July 2025, they launched Grove.
The firm is built around what Sarah calls structural integrity - a framework that treats integrity not just as a value, but as a decision-making tool. The idea is that the same structural principles underlying the rule of law can guide how clients make business decisions, manage risk, and build organizations that hold up over time.
"We use structural integrity as a decision tool," she explained. "The firm is rooted in integrity - both in terms of doing good, in terms of our steadfast commitment to the rule of law, and also in the notion of structural integrity and looking at systems that allow our clients to thrive."

In ten months, Grove has grown to a team of more than ten lawyers, adding members deliberately and with a clear emphasis on belonging.
"We want to make sure they're coming in and we are knowing them and it's not just about churn. It's about bringing people in and valuing them. Belonging and connection is a very important part of our value system."
